Is it possible to reduce the sensitivity of the joystick on a controller for N64 emulators?
I don't want to extend the dead zone but rather be able to just turn just a little in Diddy Kong Racing and F-Zero.

You can try re-mapping your gamepad through xboxdrv, which has a sensitivity adjustment for the joystick axis.

I think I found the solution here: N64 Controller Analogue Stick issues
          I will test later.

@mitu on a sidenote, retroarch now has a setting for this, since 1.7.8 iirc

Turns out that the dead zone was set too high.
When the joystick finally tilted out of the dead zone it had gone too far for the smaller motions. I set it to almost nothing in comparison to what it was and now everything is nicer to play.
