made changes to my advmame.rc file and trying to figure out how to reinstall?

Absolute newb here, I'm one of these guys who bought a arcade cabinet already done and tried to add aimtrak guns onto it. I made some changes onto the main advmame.rc file and now the games won't even load up. Any idea how I can reinstall it from fresh? I tried removing and installing advmame in retropie setup but for some reason the rc file does not change. Should I try deleting the file and then removing advmame before installing again? Thanks for any advice!

@sdabbs you could remove the .rc file and then reinstall advmame - that should do it!
