Help organizing my FinalBurn Neo Roms. I'm a Newb
-
Hey there. Firstly, thank you for clicking to see if you're able to help..
I'm really good at windows based stuff, but Raspbian and Retropie is Brand new to me. I've looked only on how to do this, but can't really find an easy clear answer.
I have tons of dublicate games and games I don't care for to show up. How do I remove the dups, and fake games? I saw soething about .dat files.

How did you get these ROMs?
Put the SD into your Windows computer and delete the duplicates in rootfs/home/pi/Retropie/roms/fbneo. -
I got a rom pack for FBneo. I read online that you need all the roms for them to work properly.

I do not think this is true.
-
Like there are parent roms, and child roms. Some Roms need the Parent Roms to work..
-
Dunno. I have no idea how to help you then...
-
@Rookerman Take a look at https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Validating,-Rebuilding,-and-Filtering-ROM-Collections/, will give you an idea how to organize your ROM collection.
If your set is un-merged, then each ROM can be used standalone, so you can copy only the games you want to thearcade
/fba
folders. Otherwise you can organize your collection and create un-merged set, so you don't have to copy the whole set to your PI.@IceChes1 your answers are off the mark and you clearly don't know enough to give a constructive answer in the topic.

No, I do not know enough. I have never used FinalBurnNeo and thought that the skills I learned from MAME would be enough. Won't reply here again.

fyi MAME also has the concept of non-merged sets. see https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Validating,-Rebuilding,-and-Filtering-ROM-Collections#crash-course-in-arcade-rom-terminology
