    @escc1986

    so the way i do things now is i have a command that gets ran when i pick a certain game, unlike the way we where just playing with. that way is always running in the back ground in a way waiting for a game that needs is to start and away it goes.

    so im hoping that i can get my way to work and we can go from there, cuz i think even with what ever settings or naming that has been done it will not matter.

    plus if you get to any other games that need something custom like the games in PORTS. it is very easy to copy and past from one to the other

        @escc1986

        ok here goes, from what i was able to test it does work on my system and it does over ride whatever preconfiged controls

        in the rom/scummvm folder open the +start scummvm.sh and add this line under the #!/bin/bash but before anything else

        sudo /opt/retropie/supplementary/xboxdrv/bin/xboxdrv >> /dev/shm/runcommand.log 2>&1 --evdev /dev/input/event0 --config /opt/retropie/configs/all//xdrive/scumm.cfg &

        dont forget to change the event number to match yours

        now in the config folder go to the all folder and make a new folder named xdrive

        in there make a new file called scumm.cfg
        in there paste this

        [xboxdrv]
        silent=true
        deadzone=4000
        deadzone-trigger=15%
        dpad-as-button=false
        trigger-as-button=true
        detach-kernel-driver=true
        #force-feedback=true
        mimic-xpad=true

        [evdev-absmap]
        ABS_X=x1
        ABS_Y=y1
        ABS_Z=x2
        ABS_RZ=y2
        ABS_HAT0X=dpad_x
        ABS_HAT0Y=dpad_y

        [evdev-keymap]
        BTN_SOUTH=a
        BTN_EAST=b
        BTN_NORTH=x
        BTN_WEST=y
        BTN_TL=lb
        BTN_TL2=lt
        BTN_TR=rb
        BTN_TR2=rt
        BTN_SELECT=back
        BTN_START=start
        BTN_THUMBL=tl
        BTN_THUMBR=tr

        [ui-axismap]
        x1=KEY_LEFT:KEY_RIGHT
        y1=KEY_DOWN:KEY_UP
        dpad_x=REL_X:10
        dpad_y=REL_Y:10

        [ui-buttonmap]
        a=BTN_LEFT
        b=KEY_LEFTCTRL
        x=KEY_ENTER
        y=KEY_R
        lb=KEY_C
        lt=KEY_A
        rb=KEY_SPACE
        rt=KEY_D
        back=KEY_F5
        start=KEY_ESC
        tr=KEY_K
        tl=KEY_Y

        # EOF #

        now of corse you need to change the buttons to mactch your controller.
        these are from my setup

        there will be some fine tuning that you will need to do, but this i hope should get you to work.

          Question :

          How do you create a new folder "xdrive" in command ?

          I made a mistake and

          Sudo nano xdrive ( sudo nano means txt from what I found out )

          How do you create a new folder ?

            @escc1986

            mkdir /opt/retropie/configs/all/xdrive

            to make the config file
            then sudo nano /opt/retropie/configs/all/xdrive/scumm.cfg

            i just network into mine from the computer and use explorer to do most of everything
            so i just right click for everything, lol

                    @escc1986

                    that should work,

                    if not

                    this is what the buttons are called when you press then vs what you are pressing.
                    example you dont want this
                    BTN_START=start. you want this BTN_TR2=start

                    [evdev-keymap]
                    BTN_SOUTH=a
                    BTN_EAST=b
                    BTN_NORTH=x
                    BTN_WEST=y
                    BTN_TL=lb
                    BTN_TL2=lt
                    BTN_TR=rb
                    BTN_TR2=rt
                    BTN_SELECT=back
                    BTN_START=start
                    BTN_THUMBL=tl
                    BTN_THUMBR=tr

                    and

                    this is what you want the buttons to do

                    [ui-buttonmap]
                    a=BTN_LEFT
                    b=KEY_LEFTCTRL
                    x=KEY_ENTER
                    y=KEY_R
                    lb=KEY_C
                    lt=KEY_A
                    rb=KEY_SPACE
                    rt=KEY_D
                    back=KEY_F5
                    start=KEY_ESC
                    tr=KEY_K
                    tl=KEY_Y

                    now i have a bunch of things you dont need so just delete them as you go.

                      How does it look by you ?

                      if this looks ok ....

                      where do i put this config in the scumm.config

                      then what would i need to do

                      reboot and try game , right ?

                              @ExarKunIv said in ScummVM Controlller Issues:

                              +start scummvm.sh

                              #!/bin/bash

                                  you put scumm.cfg in the xdrive folder
                                  and you +Start ScummVM.sh looks good leave it

                                  Remove everything that you don,t have a key assigned to for both the keymap and buttonmap

                                  i will try you config tomroow when im at work, thats where my system is at. and ill let you know what i find out

                                      @escc1986

                                      all i did was remove the empty buttons
                                      this is what i ended up with

                                      this is the scumm.cfg. that is in the config/all/xdrive folder

                                      [xboxdrv]
                                      silent=true
                                      deadzone=4000
                                      deadzone-trigger=15%
                                      dpad-as-button=false
                                      trigger-as-button=true
                                      detach-kernel-driver=true
                                      #force-feedback=true
                                      mimic-xpad=true

                                      ABS_Z=x2
                                      ABS_RZ=y2
                                      ABS_HAT0X=dpad_x
                                      ABS_HAT0Y=dpad_y

                                      [evdev-keymap]
                                      KEY_#304=a
                                      KEY_#305=b
                                      KEY_#307=x

                                      [ui-axismap]
                                      x1=KEY_LEFT:KEY_RIGHT
                                      y1=KEY_DOWN:KEY_UP
                                      dpad_x=REL_X:10
                                      dpad_y=REL_Y:10

                                      [ui-buttonmap]
                                      a=BTN_LEFT
                                      b=BTN_RIGHT
                                      x=KEY_ENTER
                                      back=KEY_F5
                                      start=KEY_ESC

                                      # EOF #

                                      and it works for me.

                                      so as long as you have your +Start ScummVM.sh looking like this that is in the roms/scummvm folder

                                      #!/bin/bash
                                      sudo /opt/retropie/supplementary/xboxdrv/bin/xboxdrv >> /dev/shm/runcommand.log 2>&1 --evdev /dev/input/event0 --config /opt/retropie/configs/all//xdrive/scumm.cfg &
                                      game="$1"
                                      pushd "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/scummvm" >/dev/null
                                      /opt/retropie/emulators/scummvm/bin/scummvm --fullscreen --joystick=0 --extrapath="/opt/retropie/emulators/scummvm/extra" $game
                                      while read id desc; do
                                      echo "$desc" > "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/scummvm/$id.svm"
                                      done < <(/opt/retropie/emulators/scummvm/bin/scummvm --list-targets | tail -n +3)
                                      popd >/dev/null

                                      and the button maps named as scumm.cfg and saved in configs/all//xdrive

                                      everything should work fine. other then that i dont know.

                                      when you start a game run
                                      cat /proc/bus/input/devices
                                      you should have your controller and then a new one called Microsoft X-Box 360 pad then you know the file is starting.
                                      if not then it is not seeing something.

                                      we'll go from there

                                        Hi , Good Morning

                                        so i revised the changes ...

                                        changed everything how it should be

                                        i reboot

                                        now i enter the game in scumm and it doesnt run

                                          it should be in the config/all/xdrive folder.

                                          (now you can have it where ever you want in the all folder. you will just have to tell the start-scumm.sh where to look
