ScummVM Controlller Issues

well i know you have the runcommand-onstart i saw the vid
put this in the runcommand-onstart
#!/bin/sh if [ "$1" = "scummvm" ] then sudo killall > /dev/null 2>&1 xboxdrv sudo /opt/retropie/supplementary/xboxdrv/bin/xboxdrv > /dev/null 2>&1 \ --evdev /dev/input/event0 --silent --detach-kernel-driver --force-feedback --mimic-xpad --trigger-as-button --evdev-absmap ABS_HAT0X=dpad_x,ABS_HAT0Y=dpad_y --evdev-keymap KEY_#305=a,KEY_#304=b,KEY_#307=x,KEY_#308=y,KEY_#310=tl,KEY_#311=tr,KEY_#312=select,KEY_#313=start --ui-axismap dpad_x=REL_X:10,dpad_y=REL_Y:10 --ui-buttonmap a=BTN_LEFT,b=BTN_RIGHT,select=KEY_F5,start=KEY_SPACE --ui-buttonmap guide=void,x=void,y=void,lb=void,rb=void,tl=void,tr=void,lt=void,rt=void,back=void --ui-axismap x2=void & fi

ok , i pasted in runcommand-onstart and rebooted my device
just tested it
appears as same as before , dpad not working and L is space & R is f5
-
ok so the problem now is getting the game and the script we just made to work together.
-
humm interesting , i wonder why they dont work together
-
@escc1986
they do
you just need everything on the same page.IE
correct drivers turned on, correct names ETC....i use a different method now so i have not messed with it this way in a long time
and you have a bunch of little things you did, which is not wrong but not needed. so they might be giving a problem.give me a bit i want to try something on my system
-
sure , take as much time needed :) ... hope you could figure something out
-
so the way i do things now is i have a command that gets ran when i pick a certain game, unlike the way we where just playing with. that way is always running in the back ground in a way waiting for a game that needs is to start and away it goes.
so im hoping that i can get my way to work and we can go from there, cuz i think even with what ever settings or naming that has been done it will not matter.
plus if you get to any other games that need something custom like the games in PORTS. it is very easy to copy and past from one to the other
-
Fascinating ... i hope you way , will be the way to go :)
-
ok here goes, from what i was able to test it does work on my system and it does over ride whatever preconfiged controls
in the rom/scummvm folder open the
+start scummvm.sh
and add this line under the#!/bin/bash
but before anything elsesudo /opt/retropie/supplementary/xboxdrv/bin/xboxdrv >> /dev/shm/runcommand.log 2>&1 --evdev /dev/input/event0 --config /opt/retropie/configs/all//xdrive/scumm.cfg &
dont forget to change the event number to match yours
now in the config folder go to the all folder and make a new folder named
xdrive
in there make a new file called
scumm.cfg
in there paste this[xboxdrv] silent=true deadzone=4000 deadzone-trigger=15% dpad-as-button=false trigger-as-button=true detach-kernel-driver=true #force-feedback=true mimic-xpad=true [evdev-absmap] ABS_X=x1 ABS_Y=y1 ABS_Z=x2 ABS_RZ=y2 ABS_HAT0X=dpad_x ABS_HAT0Y=dpad_y [evdev-keymap] BTN_SOUTH=a BTN_EAST=b BTN_NORTH=x BTN_WEST=y BTN_TL=lb BTN_TL2=lt BTN_TR=rb BTN_TR2=rt BTN_SELECT=back BTN_START=start BTN_THUMBL=tl BTN_THUMBR=tr [ui-axismap] x1=KEY_LEFT:KEY_RIGHT y1=KEY_DOWN:KEY_UP dpad_x=REL_X:10 dpad_y=REL_Y:10 [ui-buttonmap] a=BTN_LEFT b=KEY_LEFTCTRL x=KEY_ENTER y=KEY_R lb=KEY_C lt=KEY_A rb=KEY_SPACE rt=KEY_D back=KEY_F5 start=KEY_ESC tr=KEY_K tl=KEY_Y # EOF #
now of corse you need to change the buttons to mactch your controller.
these are from my setupthere will be some fine tuning that you will need to do, but this i hope should get you to work.

Question :
How do you create a new folder "xdrive" in command ?
I made a mistake and
Sudo nano xdrive ( sudo nano means txt from what I found out )
How do you create a new folder ?
-
mkdir /opt/retropie/configs/all/xdrive
to make the config file
then sudo nano /opt/retropie/configs/all/xdrive/scumm.cfgi just network into mine from the computer and use explorer to do most of everything
so i just right click for everything, lol -

i dont understand ... how to change it to mine , can you help me
-
@escc1986
that part you dont have too. i tested it with my dpad since they where call the same as yours -
BTN_SOUTH=a BTN_EAST=b BTN_NORTH=x BTN_WEST=y BTN_TL=lb BTN_TL2=lt BTN_TR=rb BTN_TR2=rt BTN_SELECT=back BTN_START=start BTN_THUMBL=tl BTN_THUMBR=tr
&
--evdev-keymap KEY_#304=a,KEY_#305=b,KEY_#307=x,KEY_#308=y,KEY_#310=tl,KEY_#311=tr,KEY_#312=select,KEY_#313=start
i just replace with my numbers
example: Key_#304=a
-
that should work,
if not
this is what the buttons are called when you press then vs what you are pressing.
example you dont want this
BTN_START=start
. you want thisBTN_TR2=start
[evdev-keymap] BTN_SOUTH=a BTN_EAST=b BTN_NORTH=x BTN_WEST=y BTN_TL=lb BTN_TL2=lt BTN_TR=rb BTN_TR2=rt BTN_SELECT=back BTN_START=start BTN_THUMBL=tl BTN_THUMBR=tr
and
this is what you want the buttons to do
[ui-buttonmap] a=BTN_LEFT b=KEY_LEFTCTRL x=KEY_ENTER y=KEY_R lb=KEY_C lt=KEY_A rb=KEY_SPACE rt=KEY_D back=KEY_F5 start=KEY_ESC tr=KEY_K tl=KEY_Y
now i have a bunch of things you dont need so just delete them as you go.

How does it look by you ?
if this looks ok ....
where do i put this config in the scumm.config
then what would i need to do
reboot and try game , right ?
-
this method didnt work for me
it was the same like before
dpad didnt work
L = space
R= f2
-
let me try the other way you suggeted
-
unfortunately
same as before
dpad didnt work
L = space

Anything Else we could try
