      Hi All, reaching out here because I've been desperately looking for a solution and coming up empty.

      I've been running a retropie on a 3b+ for almost 2 years, recently ran into an issue playing Ocarina of time where the lens of truth does not work. After doing a lot of reading of the forums and reddit I understand that this is a known issue unless you use the lr-mupen64plus emulator (had been using the default, I believe glesn64)

      I don't have a problem losing my save files and starting over but I can't for the life of me get my n64 USB controller to work properly with the lr-mupen64plus emulator. At a minimum the A button doesn't seem to work and when I've tried to play with it I end up making it worse and going back to the beginning. I understand that the file to edit for this should be /opt/retropie/configs/n64/retroarch.cfg but I don't have any idea where to start with it.

      Anyone have a working cfg file they could post or any other suggestions on how to make this game work?

      I've read a few posts where users have said they have experienced the same problem and figured it out eventually but then never posted the working config :(

      Any help or guidance is much appreciated!

        @chriso205 you can convert your save file to work with lr-mupen64plus. Lr-mupen64plus is also a libretro emulator so you can make all of your remapping changes through the retroarch menu. The mupen64plus.cfg isn't used by lr-mupen64plus.

          @quicksilver I did find a conversion tool for the save files on reddit somewhere, I haven't given it a go yet but it's less of a concern for me since I don't mind playing the game through again, but I'm definitely going to give it a try if I can make the controller work properly in the libretro emulator :)

          I do understand that lr-mupen64plus doesn't use the mupen64plus.cfg and it uses
          /opt/retropie/configs/n64/retroarch.cfg, how do I configure a controller for retroarch only without affecting the controller config for the other (non libretro emulators)? It took me a good bit of work to get the n64 controller working right in the first place with mupen64plus.

          Not sure how to access this retroarch menu?

            @chriso205 said in OOT + lr-mupen64plus n64 controller config:

            Hotkey+x will open the retroarch menu while youre in game. Then go to controls and remap as you like and then you can save it as a core remap. Remapping here won't influence your mappings in the standalone emulator because it doesn't use the retroarch controls.
