      Hi everyone!

So, I've got a close friend of mine who's a huge fan of Pokemon, and her birthday is in a couple of months.
Since she started playing Pokemon as a kid, on Nintendo DS, with Pokemon HeartGold I believe, she never got to play the first of the pokemon games on Gameboy.
So my idea was to make a console that would work as an emulator for all the Pokemon games up to the fourth or maybe even the fifth generation.

But before I even start, I have two questions, the first is : Is it even possible to do that? Is it possible to have an emulator capable of running all these different games.
And the second question is : If it is possible, where do I even start? I mean, I played a bit with my raspberry pi but nothing I ever did was a real project. What would I need?

Thanks a lot for reading guys, if you need more informations, feel free to ask me.
Please also just tell me if you think I'm delusional xd
Thanks a lot for answering me.

      Have a nice day

Why can't you just build her a RetroPie and pre-install all of those Pokemon games yourself? It's basically impossible to build an emulator that runs multiple systems. Even RetroArch is just a combination of other emulators.

        HOME CONSOLE
        Pi 4
        SanDisk 64 GB
        Master branch install
        3.5 amp CanaKit PSU
Logitech F310, Dell keyboard, Dell mouse, JetFlash Transcend 16 GB USB stick
        HANDHELD
        Pi 0 W
        SanDisk 32 GB
Random image I found. Had a driver I needed.
        IPEGA PG-9157 USB Receiver

You can use the "collections" functionality to have all the Pokemon games on a single list. When a game is selected, it will launch the game with the emulator required for the rom. I recommend checking the documentation ( https://retropie.org.uk/docs/ ), so you can setup the games with the best emulators. Once that's done, check this guide (look up collections) : https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/EmulationStation
