@mitu Updated redream now and it still segfaults. Not sure what's up with my setup then. This is basically a new install and I transfer my configs/art over like how I usually do. I did delete all configs related to dreamcast stuff just in case that was causing an issue. I also tried a gdigame as well as chd.

I'll reinstall using the latest automated build later.

UPDATE: No idea why, but retropie-buster-4.5.20-rpi4.img.gz works fine. well, not fine, fine. I do notice the slowdowns you mentioned.

Have you reported the issue on gitlab? https://gitlab.com/inolen/redream/-/issues

Inolen is generally very responsive I have found. You can also reach him on the redream discord channel as well. He told me that he prioritizes crashing issues first so it's likely you can get this sorted pretty quick.

@quicksilver nope. I'll try there, thanks.

@quicksilver Also, I can't properly reproduce the problem. It's fine on a fresh install, but sooner or later once I have my set up going, then that happens. My configs, games, etc that I transfer over have nothing to do with redream or dreamcast.

@Darksavior something you are doing must be breaking redream. What does runcommand log say when redream crashes?

@quicksilver I'm reinstalling right now and being careful what I'm adding back but here's the log from the last time: https://pastebin.com/YUdZJ5fJ

UPDATE: As soon as I set it up to run games from usb, it instantly happens. It must not like something I'm doing there. I use this guide https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Running-ROMs-from-a-USB-drive
                  This section in particular /home/pi/RetroPie vfat rw,exec,uid=pi,gid=pi,umask=022 0 2

@Darksavior why don't you use the automatic method? Works fine for me.

@quicksilver Because I don't need to. I've been using this method for years and have had zero problems until now. The manual process basically consists of copying the retropiemenu folder and editing fstab. The other folders are empty on a new install. My games and folder structure are already on the stick. I also uninstall usbmount because I want to run as little processes as possible.
I also don't see the reason why redream must have a 512MB version of itself in /dev/shm/
At least I can reproduce the problem and can ask the dev for help now.

@Darksavior hopefully someone else can get to the root of what's going on then. The automatic method works fine for me, so something about the manual config is causing issues.

@quicksilver The stable build works fine but it has the menu bug. It's definitely something the dev changed.
