    Just installed Redream onto my Raspberry Pi 4 from the experimental packages section. I've tested 3 games (two .chd files and one .cdi file). They all appear on my game list under Dreamcast in Emulation Station, however, when I try to launch a game, it goes through the normal boot process then kicks me right back to the Dreamcast games menu in Emulation Station.

    I've connected to my Pi 4 through Winscp and navigated to opt/retropie/emulators/redream. I found that both the "boot.bin" and "redream.cfg" files appear in Winscp in that folder, but when I try to edit them I get a "no such file or directory" error message.

    I've tried removing and re-installing redream multiple times with no luck. Games try to boot then kick me back to the Dreamcast section.

    Any ideas? Maybe there's a way to install redream manually instead of using experimental packages?

    Thanks.

      Here's my log:

      boot_load_rom path=/opt/retropie/emulators/redream/boot.bin
      boot_load_rom failed to open
      [/builds/inolen/redream-private/src/guest/rom/flash.c:69] Check failed: n == size

        Did you put all bios in your bios folder?

          @kevin52085 Please add more info about your system, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

          Update your RetroPIe-Setup and packages and re-try.

            I would like to add I am having the exact same problem with Redream on my Pi 4. Games initially show up, Redream launches just fine, the menu works, I can save settings, etc. I can launch a game without issue, then after showing the startup/bios screen and sometimes another splash screen or two it instantly quits back to emulation station.

            I have udpated retropie and redream, removed and readded redream, tried tweaking settings and adjusted resolution, turned off my overclock and ran at stock speeds, removed the bios files, tried games in all three formats (cdi, gdi and chd), no luck, same thing happens every time with every game. I checked the rom folders it's scanning and it's only looking at my dreamcast folder.

            Here's the log from an earlier attempt with a CDI file:link text

            Anyone have any other ideas what could be happening here? I am using the official retropie image and installed redream from the experimental packages section.

              Looks like a corrupt VMU file. Remove the vmuX.bin files from /opt/retropie/configs/dreamcast/redream/ and try again.

                @mitu gasp, that did it! Thank you very much, I had a hunch it was either memory card or video related and was trying to see if I could reinitialize the cards from within redream, but you can't. Oh well, thanks for helping me fix it!
