Quickest why to copy roms from my PC to pi4?
-
Hello,
I'm using WinSCP to copy my roms from my laptop to my Pi4 which is wired into the network and it's going to take some time.
Is there a way I can insert the SD card onto my PC and do it that way instead?
Thanks

@g0nz0uk Windows isn't natively able to read the partition where you put the ROMs but I use Linux File Systems for Windows by Paragon Software with great success. With the free version it will at some point throttle your transfer speed but it works pretty darned well.
EDIT: if you want to run your ROMs from an external USB drive you can format that to Fat32 or NTFS and windows will read it natively.
If you happen to have a NAS you can connect a card reader to that might (should) be able to read it and if that's where you keep your ROMs it might (also should) be even faster. But that's not exactly a cost effective method.

There's also an easy way to transfer your ROMs automatically from an FAT32 or exFAT formatted USB stick. I don't know if NTFS will work with this, too.
