[SOLVED] Redream redream.cfg does not exist
-
Hi.
I have retropie 4.4.18 installed, from an image here:
https://files.retropie.org.uk/images/weekly/
In a 4 Gb Raspberry Pi 4. Powered from an ATX source.
I have the problem that redream does not create or install the file redream.cfg,
there is a symbolic link, in the path /opt/retropie/emulators/redream.This is the log that I create when I start a game:
Parameters: Executing: /opt/retropie/emulators/redream/redream "/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/dreamcast/Crazy Taxi v1.004 (1999)(Sega)(NTSC)(US)[!][10S 51035].chd" redream v1.5.0-135-g6a2032c7 appdir=/opt/retropie/emulators/redream options_read filename=/opt/retropie/emulators/redream/redream.cfg [33moptions_read failed to open filename=/opt/retropie/emulators/redream/redream.cfg[0m window_update_mode mode=exclusive fullscreen size=1600x1200 pts audio_device_init latency=60.41 ms period=444 frames fifo=2220 frames input_init input_register_device id=0 desc=auto name=auto input_register_device id=4 desc=0300000009d200000115000011010000 name=Universal Human Interface Device Universal Human Interface Device input_register_device id=2 desc=keyboard name=keyboard input_register_device id=1 desc=none name=none emu_init_port port=0 desc=auto profile=name:auto,deadzone:12 emu_init_port port=1 desc=auto profile=name:auto,deadzone:12 emu_init_port port=2 desc=auto profile=name:auto,deadzone:12 emu_init_port port=3 desc=auto profile=name:auto,deadzone:12 video_create_context GL_RENDERER=V3D 4.2 GL_VERSION=OpenGL ES 3.1 Mesa 20.0.0-devel (git-f21b31a0db) GLSL_VERSION=OpenGL ES GLSL ES 3.10 0:7(100): error: sampler arrays indexed with non-constant expressions are forbidden in GLSL ES 3.00 and later rb_test_device_features indexes=0 rb_test_device_features texture_fetch=0 rb_test_device_features fragment_feedback=1 disc_create filename=/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/dreamcast/Crazy Taxi v1.004 (1999)(Sega)(NTSC)(US)[!][10S 51035].chd chd_parse track=1 fad=150 secsz=2352 type=MODE1_RAW bswap=0 chd_parse track=2 fad=750 secsz=2352 type=AUDIO bswap=1 chd_parse track=3 fad=45150 secsz=2352 type=MODE1_RAW bswap=0 disc_create supports L JOYX JOYY Y R START/A/B/DPAD X PURUPURU STORAGE VGA mem_init ram=0xb02ad000 vram=0xafaad000 aram=0xb20af000 boot=0xb1eaf000 sh4_space_init base=0x8faad000 serial_create opened boot_load_rom path=/opt/retropie/emulators/redream/boot.bin [33mboot_load_rom failed to open[0m bios_override_settings region=usa lang=english bcast=ntsc time=0x842462eb bios_boot using hle bootstrap video_init gl_version=OpenGL ES 3.1 Mesa 20.0.0-devel (git-f21b31a0db) glsl_version=OpenGL ES GLSL ES 3.10 size=1600x1200 px vmu_create initializing /opt/retropie/emulators/redream/vmu0.bin vmu_create initializing /opt/retropie/emulators/redream/vmu1.bin vmu_create initializing /opt/retropie/emulators/redream/vmu2.bin vmu_create initializing /opt/retropie/emulators/redream/vmu3.bin verify_cache mtime=6811036156936169804 arm7_suspend arm7_reset msg_scan_mount root=/media/usb7 msg_scan_mount root=/media/usb6 msg_scan_mount root=/media/usb5 msg_scan_mount root=/media/usb4 msg_scan_mount root=/media/usb3 msg_scan_mount root=/media/usb2 msg_scan_mount root=/media/usb1 msg_scan_mount root=/media/usb0 msg_scan_mount root=/media/usb msg_scan_mount root=/home/pi library_add_dir dir=/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade/area51mx library_add_dir dir=/home/pi/RetroPie/roms

Remove the link (
rm /opt/retropie/emulators/redream/redream.cfg
), then reinstall theredream
package. Check if the options file is saved/read correctly this time. -

Good, let us know if you find any issues with the module. Given it's new and 'experimental' for RetroPie, any feedback is appreciated.
-
Nm I'll make a new thread. I just noticed the part on the bottom is a crash of some sort.
-
I've tried the uninstall/reinstall 3 separate times now. I manually deleted both the configs/dreamcast/redream and emulators/redream folder as well. It never saves my configs on exit from the emulator.
-
@morph166955 Ignore - Found the issue. For some reason dc_bios.bin and dc_flash.bin were 644 and would open properly. If set to 777 this works. I believe the problem is specific to flash.bin. I'm not sure why these need higher privileges.
-
@morph166955 I am having the same issue where my hotkey (Select) + start is not exiting me from Redream. I am pretty new at all this... can you walk me through how you changed from 644 to 777 so I can see if that works for me as well?

@tiffanitza said in [SOLVED] Redream redream.cfg does not exist:
Select) + start is not exiting me from Redream
Redream is not a retroarch emulator so this combo will not work. You'll need to enter the redream menu and map a key to exit or just exit through the redream menu (I do the second option because I don't like just one key being used for exit)
-
@quicksilver thanks I saw that... but I am having issues now with mapping from the redream menu. It will work once, but the key(s) that I mapped for exiting the emulator won't save. I saw in another thread that is an issue for others as well.
-
@tiffanitza I had that issue before, what I did was after mapping my controller I went back to the redream main menu and hit exit to return to ES once there re-launch Redream It should save
-
@tiffanitza I had exactly the same issue. I could edit the controller config in redream and assign a button to exit the emulator but it only worked once. When I went back into redream the button was set back to none. I ran the command chmod 777 /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/dc/dc_boot.bin and chmod 777 /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/dc/dc_flash.bin
Now when the button is set and I exit redream it is saved. Works every time now and even after reboots and power downs.
