[SOLVED] Redream redream.cfg does not exist
-
Remove the link (
rm /opt/retropie/emulators/redream/redream.cfg
), then reinstall theredream
package. Check if the options file is saved/read correctly this time. -

Good, let us know if you find any issues with the module. Given it's new and 'experimental' for RetroPie, any feedback is appreciated.
-
Nm I'll make a new thread. I just noticed the part on the bottom is a crash of some sort.
-
I've tried the uninstall/reinstall 3 separate times now. I manually deleted both the configs/dreamcast/redream and emulators/redream folder as well. It never saves my configs on exit from the emulator.
-
@morph166955 Ignore - Found the issue. For some reason dc_bios.bin and dc_flash.bin were 644 and would open properly. If set to 777 this works. I believe the problem is specific to flash.bin. I'm not sure why these need higher privileges.
-
@morph166955 I am having the same issue where my hotkey (Select) + start is not exiting me from Redream. I am pretty new at all this... can you walk me through how you changed from 644 to 777 so I can see if that works for me as well?

@tiffanitza said in [SOLVED] Redream redream.cfg does not exist:
Select) + start is not exiting me from Redream
Redream is not a retroarch emulator so this combo will not work. You'll need to enter the redream menu and map a key to exit or just exit through the redream menu (I do the second option because I don't like just one key being used for exit)
-
@quicksilver thanks I saw that... but I am having issues now with mapping from the redream menu. It will work once, but the key(s) that I mapped for exiting the emulator won't save. I saw in another thread that is an issue for others as well.
-
@tiffanitza I had that issue before, what I did was after mapping my controller I went back to the redream main menu and hit exit to return to ES once there re-launch Redream It should save
-
@tiffanitza I had exactly the same issue. I could edit the controller config in redream and assign a button to exit the emulator but it only worked once. When I went back into redream the button was set back to none. I ran the command chmod 777 /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/dc/dc_boot.bin and chmod 777 /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/dc/dc_flash.bin
Now when the button is set and I exit redream it is saved. Works every time now and even after reboots and power downs.
