[XU4] EmulationStation - Black Screen (stable branch)

Hi Guys.

Wondering if someone can offer some ideas.

Using an Odroid XU4, version v2.7.6 seems to work (although I sometimes get a freeze at the EmulationStation loading screen, which is why I want to update to the latest version).

v2.7.6 is what is used using the script module (because Debian <= 8), but rapidjson-dev does exist on the OS.

So, adding that dependancy and changing it to stable branch EmulationStation builds fine.

However, on boot, it seems to just get a black screen - I SSH'd in and using ps it seems emulationstation isn't running. es_log.txt doesn't indicate anything.

Anyone have any ideas what the issue might be, or, how I can find out what the issue will be - is there any further logging that I might be able to get, or there perhaps some additional debugging flags I can add whilst building that might give more information?

Run with debug enabled and post the logs:

After ES splash just black screen but its started on the background.
Tested on X11 and CLi

Solved by upgrading to newer MESA driver. Tested on same environment.
