I'm trying to use a wii Light gun (aka wi controller) with a dolphin bar in lr_flycast with confidential mission (or any other light gun game).

The good news is when I enter the retroarch menu a set of cross hairs appear and the light gun works perfectly (well at least the cross hairs move to where I point the gun). The bad news is in the game they appear but move only when I press the cursor keys on the wii controller.

Some additional info. I have both a PS3 controller and a logitech K400 (keyboard + mouse connected) and my normal controller is the PS3 controller. Ideally I want to use the dolphin bar/wii only for light games. Just at the moment I just want to prove I can get it working. Currently the game doesn't seem to see the dolphin bar at all through it seems to work 100% in the retroarch menu...

Doing cat /dev/input/mouse0 confirms that the dolphin bar is seen as a mouse and when I point the gun at the screen and move it I see traffic. Should there be a /dev/input/lightgun entry thats missing? Is that what the emulator is looking for?

Appreciate any help. This is particularly painful as it works in the emulator config screen so clearly I'm close.

I have tried restarting without the logitech and PS3 but given the limited buttons on the wii its seems impossible to start the game with out one or the other.

I also have a similar post trying to get the light gun working in advmame but this seems closer as it works in the emulator setup screen.

    Thanks
    Jonathan

    Thanks
    Jonathan

      Hello,

I was able to make it work following this:
      https://www.reddit.com/r/RetroPie/comments/g1iglz/light_gun_games_update_with_dolphinbar_pi_4/

On a PI4 with the latest RetroPie version.

      Hope it can help others

Do you have a link to the dolphon bar you have? I can see on amazon there are cheap ones for £6 and then the Mayflash ones for £23.

        Wondered if it mattered

As i understand it, the wii mote uses the dolphin bar to orientate, the dolphin bar doesn't need to be connected to your Raspberry, it just needs to be powered and synced.

How would the Wiimore motion be transferred to the emulator if the dolphin bar is not connected to the Pi ?

Doesn't the wii mote connect to your raspberry directly?
