Re: Hexen II - uHexen II: Hammer of Thyrion source port on RetroPie/Raspbian (Ready for download)
Pi Model or other hardware: Pi4
Power Supply used: Pi Standard
RetroPie Version Used: 4.6
Built From: RetroPie website imageWhen I run this Port, it opens in a very small screen in the corner of the screen, and the RunCommand Menu never disappears. Any idea how to resolve this?
I haven't attempted to add the full version or anything - this is just running the game for the first time.

The original topic notes:
Raspberry Pi 4B and Raspbian Buster: The port has not been tested with the latest RPI 4 and Raspbian Buster release. It is only guaranteed to work on the latest official release of RetroPie as the one that can be found on the RetroPie download page. Therefore users who has this might not be able to install the port and play the game. Users may need to wait for official release and support for Raspberry Pi 4B and Buster.
Since this is a SDL1 application, scaling is not 100% correct, SDL1 doesn't have support for KMS/DRM (used on the Pi4). You can try and force scaling via
dispmanx
:- add
dispmanx
to therp_module_flags=""
in thehexen.sh
scriptmodule that was downloaded. - go into
Configuration / Tools -> Dispmanx
and enable it for hexen2.
- add

Yes, @mitu !
That has worked a treat, I never would have worked that out.
When I moved the full version over, I needed to change "Strings.txt" to "strings.txt" but that is working fine now.

@tpo1990 I am still having trouble with music, even though it is set to "MIDI Only".
Console states "COULDN'T HANDLE MUSIC FILE CASA1" - do I need to copy some files over?
Thanks so much for your work on this and all the other Ports, it's really appreciated!
Edit: I've resolved this by downloading .ogg files and placing them in data1/music, and then selecting "All Codecs".
