Rather long error message while trying to install retropie
-
Greetings,
My wife bought a Retropie kit (The cool Atari one!) from Amazon. I followed the instruction manual to the letter and got to the installation part. After a few seconds in I got the following error message: An incorrect file checksum has been detected in https://428bdf583b6e0eada306-2453f8963390dcc5c6d4aacecbd06ca7.ssl.cf2.rackcdn.com/RetropieA/retropie.tar.xz. Since I have no idea what this mean I first contacted the makers (www.microcenter.com) and then I thought since it was Sunday and tech support was probably close I would see if my answered would lie somewhere on the internet. That leads me to this forum. Please help. This kit was fairly expensive and I would like to be able to play this as I am also trying to construct my own Retro gaming table as well. Thank you.

3rd party images aren't supported as stated in the above link. How are you installing Retropie?
Also, please provide all the information as requested in the same link in order to help us understand you're setup better to assist.

@Lsoth79 You'll have to contact the vendor and ask for support, their installation procedure is specific to the kit they provide and it's not supported by the RetroPie project.

@mitu I contacted the vendor and they got back to me. They said they were going to send me another image preloaded SD card but then today I got a second email where they asked me to buy another SD card because they messed up somehow. To which my reply was that why should I pay extra for someone else's mistakes? Thank you and @markyh444 for getting back to me about this though. @markyh444 I followed the directions exactly in the kit. It was a preloaded SD card with all of the games and I guess the image ended up being corrupt or something. Which sounds like their fault and not mine so I'll have to figure out where to go from here.

If the SDcard is removable, all they have to provide is a new image file and you can write it on the SDcard - I don't see why you'd need to get a new SD card.
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
