D-Pad doesn't work after Update
-
Hi,
i have installed retropie 4.6 and made all changes and mappings. Then i updates the script and the system and now DPad isn't working in all games - but still works in emulationstation. I can control the cores with the left stick but i'm not sure this is normal. I've never used the analog stick before. I'm a little bit afraid to lose all my mappings when i set up the gamepad again.

Please add the info requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first to your post.
Did you try to re-configure your gamepad ? This will generate the RetroArch's auto-configuration again.
-
I've re-configured the gamepad but without success. Problem occurs after updating retropie. I don't think its a hardware problem.
My Information:
Pi Model or other hardware: Raspberry Pi 3 Model B Rev 1.2
RetroPie Version Used: 4.6
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website + Updates
Controller used: Logilink F710
Error messages received: nothing
Emulator: all -
If it still works in EmulationStation, then the issue is most likely a configuration that's no longer working. Do you have any extra configuration added for the inputs (game or core remaps) ?
-
I've made some modifications for the cores. After deleting the remape file it still doesn't work.
-
@Carey Get a verbose log file, see here, and post its contents on pastebin.com.
-
The log is very short. https://pastebin.com/9Ddv5Eu4
-
Maybe you didn't enable the verbose/debug logging when launching the game ? Enable it - as explained in the doc page I previously linked - and then get the file immediately after you exit the game - launching another game will overwrite the file.
-
OK, works. I have to press a button on a keyboard not the gamepad.
-
The log file doesn't show any remaps or additional configurations being loaded, the only thing that's different from a default run is the auto-loading of the save state.
Does the problem appears with any game or just with a certain games ? Did you use the 'Save Configuration' from the RetroArch's RGUI to save your settings at any point ?
-
Every game i've tested (i have only 3 gameboy games) and every core.
There was a remap file but i've moved it to be sure the problem is not the remap file. But its the same with or without the file.

Post your configuration files then:
- the system's RetroArch's configuration from
/opt/retropie/configs/gb/retroarch.cfg
. - the controller's configuration file from
/opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads
.
- the system's RetroArch's configuration from

@Carey you are hijacking my thread. Make your own one

@xxxb9s What are you referring to ?

@Carey said in D-Pad doesn't work after Update:
...I can control the cores with the left stick but i'm not sure this is normal....
Call me crazy, but is this as simple as pressing the 'MODE' button on the controller? The Logitechs have a button that swaps the D-Pad with the left analog stick. I think they also have a light that turns on when you are in this mode.
Also double check the switch on the back if you have one. It has X or D setting. I believe you want X in most cases.

That's it. Sorry for the trouble guys.

So, did the D-Pad worked or not in EmulationStation ?
