[Solved] lr-np2kai will not load .hdi files
-
Pi Model or other hardware: Pi4
Power Supply used: Pi Standard
RetroPie Version Used: 4.6
Built From: RetroPie website imageI installed lr-np2kai from Source, and I've never been able to load .hdi files.
I can load games from floppies, but I've found that this works without any BIOS. I don't believe my BIOS files are incorrect, @Folly has been able to run .hdi and he has the same BIOS md5sums (apart from our .wav files, which are different - but I hope aren't pivotal). I have attempted this on the same .hdi file that he has used, and I have tried many ROMs now.
The message I receive on opening a .hdi is "How Many Files?" and then whatever I answer, I get a Basic Prompt. Here is a photo of this:
It turns out if I remove all BIOS from the folder, then the floppy games I had running previously still work. They do not seem to require any BIOS. The difference is that if I put the BIOS back in, then I begin receiving "How Many Files?" messages for .hdi rather than a blank screen, which is what I get without any BIOS at all.
Here is a verbose log:
This is driving me insane, so any help very appreciated.

All my issues are fixed! I was using Root and I thought I'd set the rights to be okay, but I don't think they were... I've reset all the rights to 0777 and everything works.
Thexder II on 88, hdis on 98. It is so lame, but I am really very happy about it! Sorry for posting this. I didn't see it coming from that cause.

@AdamBeGood One of the reasons using
root
for regular operations is not a good idea. -
@mitu Yeah, I am sorry... I did something that required it, and then neglected to change it back. Poor form.
