Pi Model: 4 4gb
Power Supply used: official Pi power supply for Pi4
RetroPie Version Used: Latest, just installed a couple days ago
Built From: Pre made SD Image from retropie official
USB Devices connected: 2 arcade sticks (Arcade1Up), 128gb flash drive, keyboard.
Controller used: Arcade sticksSo I'm working on getting my Naomi games scraped. Apparently there are some issues with Scrapers or whatever, and that's not an issue at the moment, as I've got pretty much all the images/vids I need already (and they work). I was cleaning out the Naomi games because I have no use for the driving games, or the crazy Japanese puzzle/mahjong games. Mainly just looking at fighters.
I've never been able to get Naomi games to scrape right. Even after scraping with any of the options (ES, Skyscraper, Selph's scraper, etc) the section menu for the Emulator doesn't "update" to where I have any of the metadata. I pinned this down to the gamelist.xml
So I went in and, best as I could - used Notepad++ to remove any of the ROMs I don't even have in the folder, etc. I made sure I didn't mess up any tags, and then - nothing changes. I even went so far as to find any of my Naomi gamelist.xml files and rename them to effectively 'delete' them from ES's field of view. I made sure to 'delete' from the ROMs folder (preferred placement of the file) as well as /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/gamelists/Naomi
When I restart ES, or even reboot the Pi, I do get a newly generated gamelist.xml in /opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/gamelists/Naomi, but then my Naomi section is just completely terribly named (obviously, as it hasn't been scraped at that moment). So I try to go in there and just ad something simple, like an <image>/media/images/bdrdown.png</image> or something - and then when I restart ES, I get an error about being unable to parse an XML file, and open/close tags being wrong, but I think I added the metadata properly, and nothing in the menu changes.
I've got so far as to remove all of my ROMs, and just leave one single game (that I know works) in the ROMs folder to try and get the xml file to build right, and it just doesn't. Am I missing something?

Post your
gamelist.xml
on pastebin.com to take a look, if ES doesn't like it, there's an error in it for sure. -
Thanks Mitu. I ended up using locate to find any corresponding gamelist.xml for the Naomi folder(s) and wiped them, then I just started from scratch, adding one game at a time and it looks like it finally took the information. I must have missed something in there, but just copy/pasting by hand finally nixed the issue.
It was so weird. Before that it was even naming stuff totally wrong. Like I had MegaMan 3 for NES Playchoice listed in the Naomi folder. And a LOT of the games were being listed as Power Instinct, which is not on the Naomi. No idea why it was generating games that weren't in the folder at all.
