NAOMI CONTROLS PROBLEM

Hi mates, i hope you all are ok in this days, im having a problem with some games from Naomi, i use lr-flycast to emulate naomi and atomiswave, but in some games from naomi like crazy taxi or 18 wheeler the controls are crazy, when you start the game its like the taxi was braking and accelerating at same time. The left down analog speed up, but not enought, but if you press left down analog and right left analog at same time its full speed, its like if you where playing in a simulator and using the foot to accelerate, X button freezes the game, and a lot of issues, any ideas? I try remapping all controls but do the same, the taxi starts like burning wheels, with accelerate and brake same time. Thanks for support.

@codafire I'm pretty sure the controls in those games are off because the arcade cabinets used steering wheels for input. You can play pretty much arcade perfect versions of both on the Dreamcast.

@zering i just saw a solution to remap the steering manually in RGUI, for "18 Wheeler" this concerns "Handle right" and "Handle left".
I will try this on sunday when i am back home.

@zering Yep i know in dreamcast works better but the file its heavier so thats im trying to make it work on Naomi version, we can wait until Sunday for sirhenry results hehehe

@codafire while default mapping has a tendency to be all over the place for naomi games using lots of analog controls, it should be fine after you remap it to your tastes in Quick Menu > Controls.

@barbudreadmon remapped and dont doing nothing, its like you need 2 buttons to speed up, try if you can crazy taxi for naomi and you understand what i said, i erase all buttons and make a clear configuration but not working.

@codafire i had great success by adding the clone "18whellu.zip" (1.3 MB) to the rom-folder and starting this one.
Controls are working and even this annoying "motor network error" of the parent romset "18wheeler.zip" does not appear.
I guess it is worth a try ;)

If you compress the Dreamcast version to .chd it only weighs 160MB

@codafire I don't use .chds myself for Dreamcast, but if I did I'd use either chdman or official mame chds.

Yes, it sure does ... lr-flycast too, plus many other emulators.

i use CHDman 0.205 which is just an .exe file

along with a *.bat file in Windows which can convert a single game or batch compress an entire folder of games.

example: CUE or GDI to CHD.bat and the contents are ..

for /r %%i in (.cue, .gdi) do chdman createcd -i "%%i" -o "%%~ni.chd"

Redream and Flycast both support CHDs, as long as you create the CHD file using a .gdi, not a .cue (if you get a Redump version of any DC game it will have both).
