      @adambegood Here are my settings :

      #disable_overscan=1
      hdmi_force_hotplug=1
      #hdmi_drive=2
      dtparam=audio=on
      dtoverlay=vc4-fkms-v3d
      max_framebuffers=2
      overscan_scale=1

      I don't see any difference, so my guess is the problem isn't related to those settings.

      Here is my config file from keropi : https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/zj82RbQ5Kp/

      Let me know if any of this helps.

        Thanks so much, @Zering ! I'm out all day today but when I get back I'll have a look at this. Cheers!

        Edit: A couple of your config.txt settings are commented out where mine aren't but I've tried getting rid of those and it makes no difference.

        I'm going for a run but I'll see if the keropi config can help after.

        Further Edit: My "framerate" parameter was set to 7 rather than 1. It seems to change it back by default every time also, which is interesting but doesn't fix anything!

          I'll leave this open - it is solved in that if I switch Output to Headphones then everything is fine. If anyone can think of anything else I can test to get HDMI sound working, I'd be interested! Thanks.

          Edit: I'm just playing it through with Headphones - the music is so good! Would be nice to be able to play it through my normal speakers also.

            @adambegood How far did you get? The stage 3 music is so awesome.

              I think I did get to Stage 3! I had to stop as my Wife wanted me to spend some of the evening with her, but I'll try to get through it all tomorrow if poss.

              Edit: Out of interest, I tried this on the big TV in the living room, rather than my Office monitor. The result is exactly the same, the sound dips throughout. I wondered if it was something to do with the automatic setting the Pi was doing for my monitor.

                @adambegood Could it be linked to the resolution and frequency of your monitors?

                  It could be but I'm not really sure how to determine that... I've got a TV in the kitchen as well I suppose, could test it on that. I'm going to have a play on headphones now anyway!

                  Edit: Got to Level 3, the music is v good. I played Buster as well, the other game with dodgy music. Fine on headphones. I bet some other X68000 games have this issue for me also, I just wouldn't have noticed it.

                  Further Edit: I'm not sure what would help further with anyone working out what is going on, but I did this in the terminal so including it just in case.

                  tvservice -s
                  state 0xa [HDMI CUSTOM RGB lim 16:9], 1920x1080 @60.00Hz, progressive

                    I ran an update through RetroPie Setup over night, and now the sound is sorted on lr-px68k. I've no idea which package did it - I don't think it was the emulator itself as I reinstalled that from Source while I was trying to sort this issue.

                    But something has sorted it out. @Folly, if you are bothered about your HDMI sound not working on X68000, an update on RetroPie Setup has sorted that for me. I wish I knew more specifically how, but I am glad it is fixed.

                    @Zering - thanks for all the help!

                        Indeed, glad to have it in the gaming stable! Hope your Pi repairs are going well today.
