Sometimes does not work?
-
@brutalizer
Ok, only FS-UAE works right now.
lr-vice, lr-mupen64next, megadrive does not work. They show the green text as described above. -
@brutalizer Are there some log files I can look into?
-
Your emulator starts Paused, which can happen if the RetroArch windows goes out of focus or the menu is toggled or the pause key is pressed. Did you bind the pause button by any chance to one of the gamepad's buttons ? Do you have a keyboard attached ?

Enable verbose logging when starting a game, then open
/dev/shm/runcommand.log
. -
@mitu Yes I have a keyboard and mouse. This is my Ubuntu PC.
-
Is it only a matter of pause? How do I unpause?

How do I enable verbose logging?

@mitu
Thanks for your answer! It turned out that you were correct indeed. It was paused. I thought something was broken, but it was not.
However, I could not unpause by pressing P key as you suggested. For future reference, when someone asks the same question, here is what worked for me to unpause:
Just press the mouse button.Thanx!

Just press the mouse button.
That would indicate that the windows was un-focused after start. What window manager are you using on Ubuntu ?
-
@mitu It is the standard Ubuntu 20.10 window manager. I have not changed anything, it is a fresh install. Just a couple of days old.
-
@brutalizer i have same problems
- FRESH ubuntu 20.10 instalation
- Fresh RETROPIE install
- all emu start PAUSED and i can't Unpaused....
-
@brutalizer I FOUND THE PROBLEM....
just we need press on MOUSSE button to put FOCUS on EMULATOR.
now the question is.... HOW can solve that? Im testing the system to use with ARCADE machine, i can't use mouse in the future.
-
@donpablito Maybe this pause problem is only with Ubuntu PC. You are using Ubuntu PC, right?
-
@donpablito Ubuntu's desktop environment is called GNOME. It has three possible modes of window focusing: Click to Focus, Focus on Hover, and Secondary-Click.
You can change them in the supplemental tool GNOME Tweaks and see if one of them helps you with your problem. See these links how to install GNOME Tweaks graphically or in the command line. The latter link also shows you where the focus setting is located in the tool, and what exactly the three modes are doing.

@brutalizer yes

@clyde ok, i Will try... Im a Linux beginner user.
Thanks. -
@clyde

@donpablito Good to hear. How exactly did you fix it, so it may help others with the same problem?
-
