Pi Model or other hardware: 4
Power Supply used: OEM power supply
      RetroPie Version Used 4.7.1
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
      USB Devices connected: Keyboard
      Controller used: ps4 and 8bitdo
Error messages received:An error occurred connecting to the bluetooth device (Creating device failed: org.bluez.Error.AlreadyExists:already Exists)
      Verbose log (if relevant):

Please help. I have tried all I know. I opened up the source of the configs document and deleted the controller config file. When I go back into reconnect I first check the list of connected devices. It states that there are no connected devices. I then try to reconnect the device and am faced with this error. It does this for 8bitdo and ps4. Please help

          Same issue here.

Completely stuck since I upgraded to 4.7.1... It was working totally fine before that :(((

I'm a beginner on Retropie and I don't know what to do to fix the issue :(

I tried to reinstall bluez etc. but nothing seems to work

I was having this exact issue on my fresh 4.7.1 install/8bitdo controllers. It only occurred after I set it up once in the wrong mode or made some mistake - I cant remember exactly - removed the registered device and tried to re-pair.

Anyway, the way I got around it was by uninstalling the underlying bluez package. To fix, I did the following:

            1. Uninstall bluez
            sudo apt --autoremove purge bluez

            1. Reinstall bluez
            sudo apt install bluez

            1. Reboot

After this, I went through pairing the devices again as if it were a fresh install and it worked wonderfully. I think you basically have one shot at pairing it correctly.

Anyway, this worked for me, hope it helps.

              @moosefrmer

This seems like the exact same problem I was having (trying to configure the 2nd controller after picking the wrong one the 1st time). I uninstalled and re-installed per these instructions and now I am not able to get any Bluetooth devices to even show up. Before it was giving me like 4 random Mac addresses + my computer in the other room. I will keep trying but, has this happened to you or anyone else here? Do you know if there is something else I can maybe try?

              Thanks in advanced!

Experiencing the same issue since updating to 4.7 (pi 4)

Previously I had working bluetooth but it seems to be messed up since the update.

I also tried removing bluez and reinstalling but now cannot see any bluetooth devices when scanning .

What's the fix guys? Would prefer to not re-image my SD card!
