Need a bit of help as I've done something with my set up and I'm not sure how to fix this. I have a number of messages (most of which cause no issues in my set up)

Problem 1. Audio card and audio device setting

I've fiddled with the default audio settings. I have a raspberry pi 4 connected to the TV via HDMI. Can someone please advise what the correct settings for audio card and audio device are? (Mine are currently default and speaker)

The reason I ask about this is I've got a home cinema system and think I may have changed these to test audio (audio is sorted through home cinema settings)

Problem 2. Quitting emulationstation or launching a game error message

Amixer: unable to find simple control 'PCM' ,0

      Nov 27 0044:10 LV10:. Volume control::init() - Failed to find mixer elements!

I'm getting this messages which seems to cause no issues but might be something that impacts other issues below

Problem 3: video splash screen - audio is delayed on start

I've got a video splash screen, which when I play on my laptop has perfect audio. However when I start the pi.... I don't have any audio for 5-10 seconds of my 25 second splash? (Video plays perfectly)

      Problem 4: steam link audio

Whenever I launch steam link (which works really well) I can play games flawlessly for about ten minutes.... Then for some reason audio stops coming through the TV (and in turn the home cinema) and only plays through the laptop after.

When I leave steam from retropie, I then lose all audio through the TV. If I want to get it back I need to restart.

      Using current retropie 4.7.1
      Official charger
      Pi 4b
      SanDisk ultra sd card
      Roms from NAS

          1. There's an overview of the audio settings which should be used with the Pi's on-board sound in this sticky.
          2. It's probably related to incorrect settings - see 1., once you have the correct audio settings, the message should disappear.
          3. it might be related to 1. Is the audio played directly by your TV or is it routed to the home cinema ?
          4. Any messages logged in /dev/shm/runcommand.log ? Are you using Steamlink over WiFi or wired ? What's the resolution of your display ?
