MAC Address changes every Reboot
-
The IP of my retropie WIFI connection was changing every reboot and I realised that its MAC address is literally changing every time.
I've tried various solutions from forums such as adding ansmsc95xx.macaddr=00:e0:4a:0a:3c:e0
command to config.txt and cmdline.txt but to no avail.

Please add more info about your setup, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.
Are you using Ubuntu on your system ?

@mitu said in MAC Address changes every Reboot:
My apologies, and no. It's a Pi Zero 1.3 using the Raspberry Pi 0/1 image.
Could be something to do with linux and the dongle used rather than retroPie but I'm kinda at a loss because it doesn't happen with Raspbian -
The RetroPie image is based on Raspbian Lite, so, for all intents and purposes, it is Raspbian. What kind of dongle are you using ?
-
@mitu Ah, I see. It's an Edimax ew-7811un USB dongle
-
On reflection it seems much more likely to be a raspbian issue, so I'm gonna go ahead and delete the topic
-
@entozoon please don't. You can edit your first post and make it clear it's a Raspbian issue preferably leaving original text in place for reference) (please don't blank your post as it will mess the thread up). You can't delete the entire topic anyway.
