I've just setup Retropie on a picade (https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/picade?variant=29210087489619) and installed a bunch of games. All the following emulators work without issue (nes, snes, gba, psp, arcade, megadrive, dreamcast).

However I have one issue that I'm pulling my hair out over. Controls don't work in the PSX at all. Other than hotkey based controls (accessing retroarch, dumping back into ES, etc.) I can't start a game, use the joystick or anything. I even tried to install everything from scratch and right off the bat I'm still not able to control PSX games.

      Any suggestions?

Thanks this totally fixed it for me. Another similar version here: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/28656/start-button-on-psx-emulator-doesn-t-work/2?_=1608109096986

seems odd this is the default. I never would have found that on my own!
