I just added gameboy games to a build and I've found that none of the games on this emulator have sound. Sound is fine in ES and the other emulators I have installed (nes, snes, psx, psp, arcade). I'm just not getting sound for gameboy games. Any ideas of where to start looking for a fix?

This seems to be an issue with lr-gambatte. I get sound with lr-mgba

No sound in lr-gambatte here after updating as well. And looking at the GitHub issues, seems people are having the same problem with the latest build on Win 10 and Wii U as well.

I just wanted to add that I get this error too. I tried to install lr-gambatte from source, but that failed in the retroarch-setup.sh script. Here are my specs if they matter:

Pi Model or other hardware: 8gb Pi 4, inside ExperimentalPi Piboy Case
            Power Supply used: Piboy Battery
RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest): 4.7.1
Built From: Retropie Official Raspberry Pi 4 image
            USB Devices connected: None
            Controller used: Piboy DMG Buttons
Error messages received: VolumeControl::init() - Failed to find mixer element (This is not relevant, I get sound in all other cores)
            Verbose log (if relevant): N/A
            Guide used: N/A
            File: N/A
            Emulator: lr-gambatte
            Attachment of config files: N/A
How to replicate the problem: Play any game with lr-gambatte, both gb and gbc. Audio settings in retroarch don't change anything, and mute is enabled under Settings>Audio

It's a bug in the emulator, it's been handled upstream and we'll wait for a fix there.
