Going back from usb storage to microSD
-
Have decided to use my Pi400 for purely computer emulation - C64, Spectrum etc. Currently have all of my roms on a 2tb external USB HD so the plan is to remove all non-computer roms, which should only leave a few systems taking up a small amount of space , therefore the hd is not needed.
Will it be as simple as just copying the 'retropi-mount' folders to the microsd card and all will be well is is there more to it than that?

@chubsta From my experience in the last, the usb storage overrides the sd card 'Retropie' folder. It's still there on the card, just not looked at. So yes, it should be that simple.

@chubsta one thing you could do is rename
retropie-mount
folder toretropie
, then when you reinsert it will copy everything left in there to the SD, as per https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Transferring-Roms/#usb-stick -

One thing though, would it just transfer the ROMs or would it move all the associated scraped data which I have in the rom folders too?
Thanks for the help guys, always like to get an opinion before I try something and mess up!

The rom folders are copied verbatim and there's no filtering done, so it will copy anything there, including any artwork scraped.
