Testing my generated handheld scripts, using the handhelds discribed by @DTEAM in his tutorial with MAME.
Forgot the names because they are from all in one roms (for example 100 in 1).
Actually I was trying to say, there is some interesting stuff.

Found it just by accident, searching for games for Box86/Wine.

These are all without a licence and source code is also available.

                      Yes, George nailed it.
But it will not be added in Retropie yet,
because they are working on the vulkan driver in Retropie.
George uses a beta vulkan driver.
                      So we have to wait.

You can install it though if you want to try.
Just paste them and install them.

Just go to the topic. There is already quite some information.

These look quite nice! Were they easy to install?

I've gotten into modern gaming, and I am working my way through a few games. I'll be back at some point though, I promise. I'd check the forum a lot more if work hadn't blocked it as inappropriate, it is so much less natural for me to check on my phone. I used to waste so much time at work on this forum! :)

@Zering Hope you feel better soon, mate. Sorry to hear that you've got the virus, I'm sure you shift it quickly.

                          @adambegood

I am working a bit on these games.
Made a test port for box86wine that use the windows binary .exe.

                          But If I can,
I will try to make direct ports that will compile these games directly for RPI.
Up till now, I could only compile RoadFighter and Maze Of Galious.
I have to edit some code, so they can be compiled.
For now they are not easy to install, yet.

@folly Sorry all for the late answer, this virus is brutal. I'm all better now, and getting pretty excited about Box86/Wine. I'm wondering if some later games run well on the Pi? I'm thinking of classic RPGs like Arcanum, Arx Fatalis, Fallout 2. I'm feeling ambitious - does stuff like Soul Reaver 2 or Vampire - the Masquerade run using Box86/Wine on the Pi 4?

Nice to hear you better now, thats really great.
That virus is really a pain in the ass !!

Well, don't expect too much of box86wine.
I tried some stuff, but there is not much that will work.
This is mainly because of wine.
                              And my pi became sloowwww.
                              Not really sure why.
But when the games work they work quite good.
My advice : If you want to try, do it on a seperate fresh install.

I created my first port script for MazeOfGaliousRemake.
I had to overcome one problem though.

Interested how we fixed it ? Look here :
                                https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/27127/is-there-a-guide-somewhere-to-create-install-scripts-if-you-can-get-a-game-to-compile/4

I also added RoadFighterRemake and GooniesRemake.

These ports should work now, later I will add some help.
You have to press F12 to exit the games.

With these commands you can add it to your Retropie-Setup :
(Issues should be fixed now, at least I hope so !!! Enjoy ;-))

I take it we need the original PC executables?

Just install, no executables's needed. ;-)
                                    They are compiled when installed.

Edit : Actually I'm curious how that works. Why is there no need for any ROM files or executables?

Ok, I see. Well, good for you, I think ;-)

Edit : Actually I'm curious how that works. Why is there no need for any ROM files or executables?

These are Remakes of the games, so they are programmed from scratch.
The source code is available, some with the GNU/GNU2 licence, some with no licence at all. So we are able to share and use these sources.

These are the latest nightly svn source codes from 2012.
It took me some time to fix the code, so it would compile on the rpi4.
I also had to make some fullscreen fixes for some of them.
I implemented these fixes in the "port module scripts" so it gets the source code, applies the fixes and then compile correctly.
So then we have necessary binary executable that we can run.

                                        EDIT 1 :
Damn :-( , It doesn't work correctly if run from an original Retropie install without Desktop enviroment.
I have to look for a solution.
Only mazeofgalious and roadfighter run in a small window.
Goonies doesn't work at all, it seems to use X11.
                                        (So do not install yet.)

                                        EDIT 2 :
It should be fixed now !
Perhaps I have to improve some stuff later on, but for now it will do.

                                          How is it going, both?

I've started playing Snatcher Sega CD on my little RetroFlag Pi Zero, so there is still some retro gaming going on!

When I do get time to play, it's mainly modern stuff at the moment though.

@adambegood I'm doing okay, just finding it hard to find the time or the motivation to play at the moment, although I'm sure it will inevitably return.
How far are you in Snatcher CD? I remember really enjoying the first half of the game.
