That sounds similar to this issue:

@kounabi22 This also happens to me in Flycast. I have to delete both of the nvmem files after each session. I have never found a solution to this, so if anyone knows of any solution then it would be gratefully appreciated.

The thread I linked has a workaround. It involves making the nvmem files read-only after the first launch.

This seems like an ugly duct tape version of a fix. Hopefully someone can investigate the problem causing this and file a bug report upstream.

@kounabi22 Have you thought about trying the Atomiswave Dreamcast ports instead? I don't think they work in Flycast though, but do work in Redream.

It works well with Lr-Flycast. Try to use gdi from a Dreamcast group on Google (can't say where)

They fix a lot of control issues and you can convert in chd for Atomiswave (smaller size).

The only problem I had with Lr-Flycast is with Dolphin Blue. This is a known issue with Lr-Flycast.

Some games stop randomly, but if you save often you will be able to restart where you were.

For Demolition Fist, when the menu freeze, wait the 9 seconds and you will go in the game with the first caracter. You will be able to change when you will die.

@dteam Thanks for the reply and information. I have the Atomiswave ports for the Dreamcast in CHD format, but when using Flycast the SEGA screen loads up they crash. They work fine in Redream though. Do you have any ideas why that might be? Any help appreciated.

I don't know. Have you read this: https://docs.libretro.com/library/flycast/

Maybe It's a Bios issue. Run your game and after that, go /dev/shm and open your runcommand file to know what happens.

Same thing for me except for Dolphin Blue. It freezes at a specific place in the last stage (see picture).
Known bug. have you found a solution for that ?

They did the correction in flycast and not lr-flycast for now. I don’t think you need to change your rom or states.

                                  Look for updates

                                  New edit:
Done, they fixed it in the last lr-flycast update in RetropPie ! Yeah!
