I've been trying to get the Atari Star Wars vector game to look better in RetroPie. I've seen examples of the vector bloom effect but can't see an option for this, only flicker and beam thickness? Is this possible any other way? I have a vector.ini file config that has a few lines of config for bloom but it doesn't seem to do anything.

      I'm using lr-mame2016 on a Pi4 with RP 4.7.

      Thanks

@mrnoholster Apparently there was some progress achieving it .. i personally never got around to trying it.

As well as antialiased lines with transparency I've also figured out how to do glow/bloom in one render pass, rather than the several it usually takes, which makes it practical for Pis.

@dreamcastkid That's and for the lr-vecx (Vectrex) core, it doesn't apply to lr-mame2016.

@MrNoHolster I don't think that the vector options are exposed through the core options for lr-mam2016 (as they are implemented for lr-mame2003). You may want to use the mame (standalone) emulator, that will understand the vector.ini configuration directly.

Thanks @mitu - fingers crossed we finally get all the vector options included. I've seen PCs running MAME with all the glow effects and it's such an improvement.

@mrnoholster I don't think that they'll be implemented in lr-mame2016 any time soon.

As I said, you can install the mame emulator and try running the game with it - it's the same emulator you've seen running on PCs with the effects you mention.
