@adambegood I've just made this setting change myself (auto-height in amiberry, conf) so it definitely should be there.

I didn't create, or need to create any additional folders when I did it.

      Currently running:
Retropie 4.8.9 on a Pi Zero 2W (Overclock Settings: CPU 1400Mhz)
      ES-DE on a GMKtec K6 (Windows 11, 32GB RAM)

@george-spiggott So amiberry.conf was in that location by default..? I just don't have it.

@adambegood i can confirm that it should be there. I enabled scanlines by default also in there.

@adambegood Yes. It's just a text file I'll upload the contents of mine if you like.

              Hi @George-Spiggott,

If you could upload yours that would be good, please.

              Definitely this location, yep? /opt/retropie/configs/amiga/amiberry/conf

It's so strange - it all works perfectly apart from me not having this config. Having to change Auto Height every time (well, for most games) isn't ideal, but it is workable.

Always nice to get things fixed though.

              Thanks,
              Adam

Good shout, I'll look to do that also.

                  @adambegood As found in configs/amiga/amiberry/conf/

                  https://pastebin.com/X4DZLjQf

Note that mine is already edited for auto-height and vertical centring,

@george-spiggott Okay, that worked for me...in a way.

If I put in scan lines, or take that setting out, that is always applied - so the .conf is being recognised. Auto-Height is not always applied, I've seen it applied once but then not for games that I do want it applied for.

I forget which game it did tick the Auto-Height box for (it was the first game I ran, I think), but it didn't work for Rick Dangerous 2 (which doesn't need the setting) and Shadow of the Beast (which does).

I am not sure how to proceed now, I am not sure if another screen setting is interfering with Auto-Height and disabling it.

@adambegood I'm also experiencing intermittent results from Auto height. I don't have Rick Dangerous 2 but Shadow of the Beast works fine for me.

Now that I've got the latest Amiberry after updating from Source, Shadow Of The Beast works fine for me also. I have some games with anomalies on auto-height still, but overall I am very happy with the way things are working.

On a slightly different note, I have got some games with graphical glitching (Deluxe Galaga and Plan 9 from Outer Space are the ones I recall). Do you know if there are any settings that might sort those out, or is it just something that has to be accepted?

Edit: Notice here you have mentioned graphical issues: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/30213/amiberry-4-0-released/8?_=1617581491663

I guess these may be sorted as the core is worked on then.
