How to force screen resolution when booted directly
-
I have a setup that was installed over raspberry pi OS. From time to time, I do want to be in the pixel desktop environment, so I want to sometimes toggle between which the pi boots to.
I notice that running emulationststion while booted into the pixel desktop, it outputs at the set resolution and at 16:9 for menus. When I boot directly, it is very low resolution and in a 4:3 format, and it doesn’t look well as my TV tries to upscale everything. How would I set that so when booted directly to ES, it will output in the higher resolution and at 16:9 for the gui? thanks!

Please add more info about your setup, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

@mitu said in How to force screen resolution when booted directly:
It's a rPI4b 2gb model, latest update of Retropie (Everything is updated very regularly), and is was installed on top of Raspberry OS. I generally run it as an app launching via the terminal, but I do see that performance is better when booted directly.
