Hi, I'm at the final hurdle of finishing my cabinet update using a Pi3B+ Pi2SCART, Ultimarc iPac2 (8 way sticks 6 button layout)x2, OptiPac with ultimarc trackball and spinner.
Previously ran a mame only PC setup built in 2007 and everything worked fine with mame. I've managed to get the buttons all mapped and analogue controls working but in games like outrun, using the spinner as a wheel it self centers when you stop turning the spinner, so if you dial in a steering angle an hold it, mame auto centers.
If I'm using the trackball in centipede or as a light gun it acts like a mouse and the spinner moves the cross-hair without auto center, also fine in PUAE and SCUMMVM.
Used to work in MAME 0.78 PC fine.
I'm still really confused with how RetroArch maps controls, I've set them in 'Settings' as 2 retropads with digital to analogue off.
I've then set them in 'Controls' which is probably wrong as my understanding is it makes a core override which may not be needed.
only thing I have noticed is that in the MAME menu if i chose analogue control settings it only shows D/A stick settings.
I've fumbled my way through this far and think I probably have mapped controls over controls but if i could just bin off auto center it'd be good enough for me! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@donkeykongcab not sure which core you're using exactly. Mame2003 or mame2003-plus or other?, In mame2003-plus there is a core option "center joystick axis for digital controls". You may need to disable it.

@mahoneyt944 Thanks! Can't believe I couldn't see that option. All sorted now for MAME controls.. Now onto sorting retroarch rgui controls, for some reason they change depending on what emulator is running. PSX and PC Engine controls are now screwed and I don't have a back button to navigate RGUI.

@donkeykongcab That could happen if you've reset your RetroArch config from the RGUI menu and/or enabled 'Save Configuration on Exit'.

@mitu thanks, I cleared my ES controllers and enabled auto configure in retropie setup and re-entered them and all is good again.

@donkeykongcab Hey...hope you can help me?

I have a cab set up with a Pi3b + arcadergbpi to gamma...plus an optipac...

I am having trouble getting the inputs working...it looks like you have a similar set up (instead of a trackball and spinner) Im using a wheel and pedal (spinners basically - but optical from an original arcade machine). both register as mouse 2 and mouse 3....but only one at a time appears to work via retroarch...any pointers?

                Thanks,
                Sean
