I'm going to do my best to do as good as zerojay. He did set the bar high.
I'm still learning as I go. So be patient is all I ask.

I did get my gamepad working in nxe-evo, eventually; I had to use the keyboard to navigate to "options" and then bind the controls manually. Did you have to do that or was it plug-and-play for you?
Also haven't figured out my graphics issue, I've posted an issue on their repo about it.
-
@sleve_mcdichael i had to use a keyboard also. once i did that, it worked great

Got it, okay I think we're on the same page. Graphics issue has to do with framebuffer resolution. Am experimenting with game and runcommand settings. Looks great at 1024x768, but runs pretty sluggish. Runs better at 640x480, but the bottom of my image is cut off...

How make?
enable the fake 3d driver i mean from config.txt
add "dtoverlay=vc4-fkms-v3d" to /boot/config.txt.
-
@retropi19 that setting is already in the default config and I didn't change it:
[pi4] # Enable DRM VC4 V3D driver on top of the dispmanx display stack dtoverlay=vc4-fkms-v3d max_framebuffers=2
-
@sleve_mcdichael If you are from desktop enable the driver from the raspi-config
-
@ExarKunIv I stumbled across a solution for dhewm3 not exiting properly. Add
+set in_tty 0
To the end of the line of dhewm3 emulators.cfg
Edit: I also found a few minor mistakes with some of the scripts in your repo. Would you prefer I open issues there or just report them here?
-
@quicksilver either work just fine with me
-
NOTE: a keyboard is required to exit this game. I have made this abundantly clear in the module readme.
ProtoType - an R-Type remake by Ron Bunce, Linux port by ptitSeb.
wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/s1eve-mcdichae1/ProtoType-RPi/main/prototype.sh -P $HOME/RetroPie-Setup/scriptmodules/ports/
As always, download the scriptmodule to your system and then install the port through "experimental packages."
