Uninstalling PieMarquee?
-
I recently sold my modded cabinet, but kept a copy of my Pi image. The cab had a dynamic marquee set up using the Pi's 2 HDMI ports. However, now when I run Retropie by itself (like on a TV) it always makes the main HDMI output the marquee. My only workaround at the moment is to just constantly switch the cables between HDMI0 and HDMI1 on my Pi - no matter what I do, the marquee shows up as the main display. It's not very ideal.
I'm not very well versed in Python or coding, mostly just put this together by following tutorials online. Does anyone have any advice for how to remove or disable this script?
I used losernator's PieMarquee2 code:

Thanks!

Check the autostart scriptin
/opt/retropie/configs/all/autostart.sh
and remove the commands that start PiMarquee2, leaving only the EmulationStation start command. -
@mitu it says permission denied when i type that in the terminal should i try winscp and find it that way??

@toughjiggy you need to edit the file. Typing the path only will try and execute it which won't work. You can use a command line editor like
nano
or use scp as you mentioned and edit on another machine. -
Hello,
I hate to resurrect an old thread but you’re one of the very few people I have seen that has got this to work (PieMarquee2). I am having a heck of a time and still haven’t gotten a marquee image to show on the second screen. (I do see boot info upon boot). Do you remember enough about installation to possibly help me get this running if I post where I feel like I am specifically having issues. I am using the 14.9” display that most people seem to be using for the arcade1up builds.
Thank you for any help you can provide.

@wtstreetglow1 the original poster hasn't been in the forums for more than 1 year. Please don't bump old topics.

@mitu I apologize. I had a feeling that would get me smacked. I have created a new post with a similar request for assistance. Thank you!!
