How to replicate the problem: I am having trouble with my Raspberry Pi 4. I am trying to get my PlayStation bios on there and I transferred it via USB. I put it into the USB following the folders set-up and included ROMs on there. I can verify the files are transferred to the proper place on the file manager. However, I still do not have the option to even see that emulator. I have already downloaded the emulator via update and confirmed it is fully updated. What can I do? -
Did you restart EmulationStation after copying the ROMs ? What are the name of the (ROM/CD image) files that you copied for SNES and Playstation 1 ?
-
@mitu The SNES is not a problem, I was just using it as a controller. Yes, I have reset both ES and the Pie itself multiple times. Here is a copy of the BIOS names in the file and folder, I hope this helps.
-
Did you copy any PS1 games, if so - what are the names of the files ? Without any PS1 games copied, the system will not be displayed.

mitu asked for the name of the rom file, not the BIOS. We are looking for something like:
Castlevania - Symphony of the Night (USA).chd
or
Spyro the Dragon (USA).bin
Spyro the Dragon (USA).cue
(You need both the files for BIN/CUE format.)
These should be in the
roms/psx
folder, so it should look like:/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/psx/Tekken 3 (USA).chd
...or
\\retropie > roms > psx > WipeOut XL (USA).bin
(and accompanying.cue
) -
@sleve_mcdichael OK, thank you for the clarification. I am using the one I update from the Raspberry Pie library, I believe it is PCSX-ReARMed (I used this guide: https://raspberrytips.com/play-psx-games-on-retropie/ when doing it as well).
Here is the ROM list, they are in the psx folder:
-
@Luirru they are all still packed ;)
You have to unpack the files to get usable images (.bin/.cue, *.chd, *.pbp, *.img,...) -
@sirhenrythe5th When I try to unzip I get this message:
Is there a different way to unpack them and I just do not know about it? -
@Luirru What program are you using to unpack them ? What archive format are the files -
.zip
,.rar
? -
It looks that is using the Windows archiver that is very limited. I recommend the free 7zip.
-
Yup, you guys were right. 7zip did the trick. Thank you SO MUCH, I was going crazy trying to figure it out.
