No Emulators or retropie configs starting on RP4
-
Hello. I installed retropie on RP4 Bullseye and after emulationstation launch and starting a rom it goes blackscreen and back to emulationstation. The same with every game or if i start a retropie config option or starting retroarch. Any Help?

How do you install it? I have test it with RPi4 and RPi3 and i don't have this issue.
Don't forget that RetroPie (Bullseye) is work in progress and no official support can be provide.

@windg I have installed it again on "buster" Version. (Not Bullseye anymore). Than i installed Retropie again and its the same. Emulationstation starts and if i start any game (preinstalled games, too like doom), emulationstation closes to desktop and than it appears again to the game menue. Same with retropie options. No Settings starting.
I installed with:
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
cd Downloads
git clone --depth=1 https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup
cd RetroPie-Setup
chmod +x retropie_setup.sh
sudo ./retropie_setup.sh -
Ok. Found it! Now it Works. Found out, that the link from desktop to emulationstation opens not the "terminal". So for new Link to emulationstation check the tick in the box for "open in terminal"!!! Thats it.
I followed few instructions to install retropie and make a link on desktop. But no one tells, that tick in the box for open in terminal. Or anything about that it only works if you start emulationstation in terminal itself.

It is not recommended to run EmulationStation from the desktop directly.

@windg because i will raspberry pi 4 with plex mediaserver. And as a Bonus i will start some games with emulationstation. If i install retropie, batocera, recalbox, i can not use plex mediaserver. Rasbpian os needed.

@PittStone
Are you running plex as a server or media player? If you just want it to run as a server you don't need a desktop environment for that.
