Retropie 4.8 Compatibility with Xenmo/Reyann joysticks in multiplayer.
-
Does anyone know if the current kernel in retropie 4.8 is compatible with the Xenmo (Reyann) joystick? Well actually I know it works fine for player 1, but I have heard that when you add a second player (through 2nd encoder via usb) that the joysticks conflict with each other. The only posts I could find refer to retropie 3.3, so obviously out of date. Has it been fixed, or do you still have to install a custom kernel? I hope not cause the custom kernel is no longer available for download. I don't want to waste time and money if I can't get both to work. Thank you for your help. Have a blessed day.

Never heard of it. Maybe it's Xin-Mo ?

That usually happens when P2 is not wired identically with P1 on the encoder, but it's just a matter of being consistent and doing the wiring identically - not a driver thing.

Yep you are right, I meant Xin Mo. Sorry. Anyways it was wired identically in the situation I referenced. I read an old post on petrock that refered to retropie v3.3, so way out of date, but they had to use a custom kernel to get XinMo to work in 2 player. I just wondered if that had been fixed or if I still need a custom kernel to fix it. If the only way it still happens is wiring, I'd say it probably got fixed along the way. I am going to go ahead with a 2 player build and see how it goes. I'll let you guys know if I have any 2nd player issues. Thanks for the advice. Have a blessed day.

Well the machine is built and we are wiring up the Xin-mo controls. Once I get it going I will test a 2 player game and let you guys know how it goes. Have a good one.
