      Hey all how u doing ?
      i have retropie with pi4 model b , that i worked on it alot with wine and all sort of stuff .
      wanted to know if can just switch to pi5 just by poping out the microsd from the pi4 and put it in the pi5.
      will it worked ?
      if not any ideas ?

        @shavecat no you can't just take the card out.

        The pi5 has different chips, so the software will not know what to do with them.

        You have to do a raspberry OS install and then Retropie over that for now

        RPi3B+ / 200GB/ RetroPie v4.5.14, RPi4 Model B 4gb / 256gb / RetroPie 4.8.2
        RPi5 4gb / 512gb / RetroPie 4.8.9 -Basic
        Maintainer of RetroPie-Extra .
