      Hello!

I am having an issue in the SNES emulator where pressing down, diagonals and some combos with keys are activating features like save state selection/restoration and ROM reset. I've tried a few solutions gleaned from other topics, like resetting all controller configs. I have tried to find where these functions are mapped to change them, but to no avail.

Also, holding down will move my character down 1 frame of movement. I have to press it repeatedly to move downward instead of just holding it.

      I'm running a RaspberryPi 5 - Latest kernel 6.6
I have an SNES 30 Bluetooth controller from 8bitdo.
I have tried the controller's X mode and the R Mode - Same results on both.
I utilized the 8bitdo specific options, no difference.

      Any suggestions?
I'm sure there is some config file that I have yet to find :D

Save/Load function are activated in combination with the hotkey enable button, not standalone. Which button did you choose for hotkey enable ?
The RetroArch controller configuration is detailed in the documentation.

Latest kernel is 6.1, I advise you to not use rpi-update for regular system/kernel udates, that's not what is for.

@mitu +Hotkey is disabled. I updated to 6.6 for other reasons - the issue was present on the prior kernel as well.

The doc page I mentioned has the location of the configuration profile for joypads - you can check yours and remove the hotkey enabled actions (like save/load).

@mitu Excellent. That did the trick.

Along the process of me meddling, I must have messed something up though. Before, I could power on and use a controller that was already configured. Now it has me map all the buttons each time. It also doesn't reestablish the connection to the controller if I go to any of the configs and return to emulation station, leaving me stuck on the menu unable to do anything.

Any idea where I might have gone wrong? 😅

Did you delete any configuration file(s) hoping you'll 'reset' the mapping ?

Sounds like you've deleted es_input.cfg from EmulationStation's configuration folder, in which case follow the steps in the docs to reset your inputs and re-configure your gamepad once again.
