@abj they dont have too. all retropie is a front end to easly run the programs. that's it.

they are not involved in making the program. Unless someone from the programs dev team comes and tells them to remove it. they will not do that unless they deem it necessary

and nintendo already knows of all the programs out there. they target the ones that are making waves and making money from donations. dolphin is still going and nintendo knows all too well about them

@abj Welp, I may still be able it get it working if I am quick enough, but it was nice using Citra while I had the chance. I never cared for Yuzu, though.

there are other repos for citra. a ton of people backed it up when this all started.
so some group will come along rebrand it or something just to stick it to Nintendo.

also the lr core which this script uses is still up. so its still out there

@ExarKunIv I finally got the chance to access my RetroPie, and the kernel=kernel8.img line is indeed in the config.txt file. I just added the error message line, and I am about to attempt to install it again.

              Edit: Here are my results.
              Custom-added error log: not found
              Default error log: https://pastebin.com/DEVV5w4S
              lr-citra.sh file: https://pastebin.com/3Ek2cy3H

I don't know why it started asking for my credentials in the default error log, which is different since when I last tried it.

That's a 'red herring' - when Github doesn't find a (public) repository, it assumes it's private and tries to authenticate (and fails). The reason it fails is because almost all repositories under the citra-emu organization are gone (see the Yuzu news mentioned above) and some of them are used by lr-citra.

                  @mitu Soo.. it's unbuildable? Ded?

Edit: Well.. many people backed up the Citra repo files, so could I edit the .sh to use those instead?

The main repository for the Libretro fork is up, but it uses a number of sub-module referencing repositories under citra-emu, which are no longer available:

                      ....
                      Cloning into '/home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/tmp/build/lr-citra/externals/dynarmic'...
                      remote: Repository not found.
                      fatal: Authentication failed for 'https://github.com/citra-emu/dynarmic.git/'
fatal: clone of 'https://github.com/citra-emu/dynarmic.git' into submodule path '/home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/tmp/build/lr-citra/externals/dynarmic' failed
Failed to clone 'externals/dynarmic'. Retry scheduled

Maybe, that needs to be tested though.

                        Citra repo files

                        archive.org backups?

The archive site doesn't automatically archives everything, though undoubtedly somewhere there's a backup of the Citra source code and probably also of their dependencies.
