@CONFUSION said in Controller buttons do not correspond to the right controls:
RetroPie Version Used: 4.1
This version does not support the Pi4/Pi400 - what's the actual version that you use ? What's the name of the file you downloaded from the RetroPIe site ? What emulator are you using to play N64 games ?
You can check the N64 page to see how the input buttons/joystick/D-Pad are mapped to an N64 controller - which one of the 2 emulators are you using ?

@mitu sorry I did not realize I miss typed that, this is the name of the file
retropie-buster-4.8-rpi4_400.img
I don't know what emulator I am using, sorry if you could explain a little more that would be great. -

The name of the emulator is shown in the
runcommand
launch menu splash - https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Runcommand. -
@mitu ok thanks, the emulator I am using is this
Ir-mupen64plus-next -
Check if the mapping corresponds with the one described in the docs - see the previous link I posted. If you wish to change the mapping, then you can do so by using the core input remaping menus in RetroArch.
You can also try using the standalone emulator to check whether the default mapping for it is better suited for your needs.
