thanks for reply anyway.
/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/openbor
is thisand extract,sh already runnning.
then i will run port - openbor on emulation station
but can't run game -
I'm sorry, but I don't use EmulationStation — I use Attract Mode. From what I understand, your issue is that you don't see OpenBOR listed among the available emulators, right?
-
I can't exactly help you, I just know that with openbor, there are games that will only work with certain versions of openbor. I had this problem with tmnt retropalooza. It was built on an old version (I think), which isn't supported without a convoluted process. I'd imagine there is a list of games somewhere that should work with it. I'll be right back.
-
I will take a look tomorrow. It was working fine for me. So I will verify it if fix if needed. Or if anything I can tell you what might be the reason why you are not seeing anything
Also this will make a new system for you to pick your games from. It will not be under ports
-
@retro777 so i just installed that and it works with my
.pak
files fine.
Im running the latest version of the script and that makes it a standalone systemthere should not be any
openbor
folder in theports
folder if you are using the same one
theopenbor
folder is in the mainroms
dir and you only need the .pak
fileI also found the same game and it works just fine.
so look for the
openbor
folder in the mainroms
dir and put only the .pak files in there
you will have to restart emulation station for it to be seen. -
@ExarKunIv .pak not need extract to folder?
/roms/ only .pak? -
@retro777
roms/openbor/(.pak files)
thats it. not saying that you might come across a game that will need something else but you dont need to do anything to the
.pak
files.if they come in a
.zip
file or any other form of compression. just get the.pak
file out of there -
@retro777 I didn't realize you were trying to extract the .paks...
here's my rom/openbor dir
-
@ExarKunIv thanks for your infomation.
you have pi5 and runnning on emulation station?(Retropie)?my emulator.cfg is here
openbor-v5 = "/opt/retropie/emulators/openbor-v5/OpenBOR %ROM%"my .pak file now to /rom/ports/openbor
When I select a game, the screen goes dark for a moment and then returns to the original EmulationStation screen.
this is my pics.
any ideas?! -
@retro777
yes since the openbor-v5 will only work on the Pi5. i have it written that way
and yes its only on retropie.so a few questions.
1 what did you follow when you built your system. (instrustions)?2 do you have a desktop
3 do you have the
kernel=kernel8.img
in the config.txt?4 can you post the runcommand output. look for it here after you try running a game
/dev/shm/runcommand
it will help me see whats going onsince there is no offical image yet. i have to see what you are running
i use the unoffical image from here or used to be there. the links are not working at this time
so my sruff might be different then yours -

2 do you have a desktop
yes. but my setting is now not desktop running on startup (console emulation station only)
3 do you have the
kernel=kernel8.img
in the config.txt?boot/firmware/config.txt is here
[all]
kernel=kernel8.img
hdmi_force_hotplug=1
config_hdmi_boost=11
hdmi_drive=2

where did you get it@retro777 said in Openbor on Rasperry 5:
sudo nano /dev/shm/runcommand
not what i ment.
in the /dev/shm/ folder. you will have a runcommand.txt. i need whats in that.@retro777 said in Openbor on Rasperry 5:

hmm for me to really say i need the runcommand.txt. but there is a chance that you having a desktop even though its not running is the problem
-
dear @ExarKunIv
after openbor runnning on emulation station..
pi@retropie5:/dev/shm $ sudo nano runcommand.log
but not shown (empty files)
/dev/shm
-ls
runcommand.log
onlyでも、デスクトップが起動していないのにデスクトップが表示されていることが問題なのかもしれません。
no, my situation is...
x-window only runnning when i xstart command.
default is only emulationstation. -
@retro777 im going to agree with that. i think since you have desktop even if not enabled. it does not play nice with that system.
i never make or test any of the scripts with desktop since any of the official images of retropie don't have it. and then they say something might not work correctly if retropie is installed over a desktop -
@ExarKunIv thanks
how do i enable runcommand.log...? -
@retro777 thats the thing. it is auto when you start a game. be it from NSE, SEGA or a port.
since something is different on your build the emulator.cfg is not working as it should
it does not make anything since its not even starting -
@ExarKunIv
retroarch core will appear runcommand.log
but can't show when runnning openbor..
this is very strange things,,, sad
Parameters:
Executing: /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-beetle-wswan/mednafen_wswan_libretro.>es_systems.cfg
<system>
<name>openbor</name>
<fullname>OpenBOR</fullname>
<path>/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/ports/openbor</path>
<extension>.sh .SH .PAK .pak</extension>
<command>bash %ROM%</command>
<platform>openbor</platform>
<theme>openbor</theme>
</system>and openbor-v5 config directory is empty, this is right? openbor directory had config files.
-
@retro777 you need to look in the openbor-v5 folder and see what that emulator.cfg says.
also you said you install this from a image. where did you get it from?
-
@ExarKunIv
i copied emulators.cfg to openbor-v5 folder
cfg files include...
openbor-v5 = "/opt/retropie/emulators/openbor-v5/OpenBOR %ROM%"same error,
run
runcommand.log not shownRetropie iso image get was internet forum.
-
@retro777 yes that is correct.
at this point it is something with the image you are using.
since there is no official image yet. it was made by some extremely amazing person here.
and i think you will have to ask them.i think it has something to do with having a desktop. since the image im using does not have one. and openbor works correctly
