Retropie 4.8 and Amiberry latest version
-
Hi
I just wanted to find out if anyone has a guide or knows if it's possible to update to the latest Amiberry v7 version on a Raspberry Pi 5 with Retropie 4.8.9
The source still uses Amiberry 5.7.2 (or 5.7.4) and looking to try the latest update.
Currently running Retropie latest updates on Raspberry Pi 5 and on bookworm.
thanks

You can unpack the latest release from https://github.com/BlitterStudio/amiberry/releases/tag/v7.0.8 over the installed version in
/opt/retropie/emulators/amiberry
.I thought the (full) Amiberry is not meant for anything other than a PC type system and the Lite version is recommended for weaker devices. Anything that's in v7 that you're looking for ?

@mitu Thanks I will give it a go
I thought V7 should be able to be used for more powerful devices including the Pi 5 and V5 Amiberry should be for Pi4 and below.Having a few issues with my current version after updating Retropie so thought maybe I'll try the latest version.
Or I might try and redo the current version of Amiberrythanks

Looking at the description it would seem the new 7 version would work on the Pi5, but same description states that JIT for ARM platforms is missing. But is there anything in specific that's in v7 that you're looking for ?
