I have just tried updating the binary
Did you try updating from source?
-
No not yet ill try it tonight..
-
It will not help, as we don't build from the very latest code. I actually adjusted the module to test building from svn, but there are some issues with latest changes so you will have to wait. also see
https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/issues/1716
Although afaik the issue is related only to binding of joystick controls to menu items.
-
You might have a separate issue - not sure that is the same problem.
-
@BuZz
Yeah out of interest i updated from source last night no joystick mapping working but does not load the joystick map at startup.....small inconvenience i suppose.... -
@gorgar Please open a ticket here - https://sourceforge.net/p/vice-emu/bugs/ so the authors know about it.
BTW Updating from source will not get you the latest version on retropie - so it may actually be fixed. I will be updated vice shortly.
-
If you update RetroPie-Setup now and install vice from source you will get the very latest code, so you can check if this is still a problem. Binaries will be updated shortly (building now).

I know! I browse these forums on a daily basis, even when I'm on a break at work. And i work in aviation, not on the ground but in the air. Now that's flight safety! 😉

But you still cannot map eg Warp or Virtual keyboard to a pad button from inside VICE, right?

Im not at the computer/pi right now but i do remember my virtual keyboard was already mapped to one of my gamepad buttons when i started it.
About warp.. I know you can enable autostart temporary when you load a game/program.
Have a look at the manual for vice here
You can also map keyboard/mouse input using the xboxdrv.
@mediamogul Created this wonderful guideGuide: Advanced Controller Mappings
Ps. You don't have to use a "System wide configuration" Instead you can use Key-Mapping For Individual Emulators.
Ds. @gorgar Maybe mark this thread as solved?
-
Updated via binary and still not working, I will try from source instead and post back.
-
Yes! From source it works now!
Well done guys
