      Follow up on the above issue... I switched back to Emulationstation on boot. Everything works like normal. Can F4 to console, can access retropie setup & raspbi-config etc.

      But if you set it to boot to Kodi, the problem persists. Exit Kodi to get to Emulationstation, but from there things get spooky. Any command line functions go to just a black screen. Includes F4 to console, retropie setup, raspbi-config, etc. I have discovered that you can still input commands with the keyboard- ie when in "console" black screen type 'emulationstation' or 'kodi' to get to either, ctrl-alt-delete to reboot, etc. But the black screen is relentless...

      Quick fix? or is this gonna have to wait for an update

        @pokoj2006 I think it won't solve your problem, but can you try the reset command and tell here what happens?
        This command resets only the current terminal.

            @meleu reset command didn't change anything on my display. still a black screen..
