USB Joystic controller not recognising with MAME
-
Hi Guys. I have just plugged in a new USB Arcade joystick controller. It recognised and let me configure it straight away and appears to work with all the other emulators fine. However with MAME two of the fire buttons appear to work but not the joystick its self. Any body know of why this may be happening or if i have to configure things seaparately for MAME?

@KevTastic84 need more info: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first
you need to say what MAME version you are using, for example.
In the example below the MAME version is advmame-1.4:
-
It says Mame4all i think
-
@KevTastic84 it either says 'lr-imame4all' or 'mame4all-pi'. you'll need to find out which.
-
It just says launching (Game Title) (mame4all)...

actually maybe that's right! you are using mame4all-pi. i would change to lr-mame4all (unless you're on a raspberry pi 1 or zero). do this via https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/runcommand - change default emulator

Thanks for the info. I see to my having abit of unfortunate luck because now when i use my existing USB controller my snes emulator says the pad isn't configured. Seems fine on all my other emulators though. Wish i was smarter in this kinda thing.
