Guide used: I have read this https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/Running-ROMs-from-a-USB-drive#configure-fstab-to-automatically-mount-usb-drive
      and https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/wiki/FAQ#why-arent-my-in-game-saves-working-properly and https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/4740/save-states/9 and https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/2553/retroarch-not-saving-any-settings
      Emulator: emulationstation

I have been reading a lot of the forums, and FAQ but still can't solve my problem. My games will not save. First I tried changing it in retroarch i.e. auto save interval, auto save state, but it wouldn't save the changes. I looked and it saved changes to a new file name, but as soon as I exit retroarch it loads the default config of only the altered save settings. So I altered the config file in the terminal, and it accepted and saved the changes, but it still does not save the games, particularly NES - SMB 3. What could I be doing wrong?
