Background images, coming back!!!
-
@tronkyfran thank you for creating the image !
What software do you use for making the 3D models and rendering ? -
Mainly 3dsmax, and rendered with Corona Render. It could be perfectly done in Blender, but Im more comfortable with my old friend max. And a heavy touch of photoshop after the render, of course!
-
Vic-20, dont know if I will modify this to make it better yet, but here it is anyway ;)
In progress...
I'm not sure if I got the logo right, I made the "Commodore" part like silver, and maybe its white paper.... ¿? -
@tronkyfran Impressive model; looks great, thanks!!
Yes, Commodore logo was white.
If I may suggest some fine tuning (and if you have time for it): vic20 logo perspective in the first image looks a bit strange but maybe it's just an impression; original function buttons' color was slightly lighter (almost sort of orange). -
Still working on the vic20, but I had this done long time ago. Didnt posted because emulation is far far away for this console, but hey, you never know....
-
Delaying some other images, I just wanted to make some controllers!!
-
snes controller
-
@tronkyfran you know that now you started rendering the controllers you'll have to do all of those too ;) they look great!
-
@tronkyfran I never realized how clean the snes controller looks without the "ABXY" letters near the buttons. Nice job with these images. Hope to see more!
-
I think Ill do just the most used systems, if I do EVERY controller I will be years with this!!!
Glad you liked it :D -
Sorry, I just cant help jumping from one thing to another :O
-
Maybe we could use this controller images as runcommand images a lo Rookervik, just saying...
-
@tronkyfran sounds brilliant to me. They can also be alternates for the main backgrounds if people are so inclined
-
Steam controller:
-
@tronkyfran what about european users and our multi-colour snes buttons? XD
excellent work!!!! -
You are right, and being european myself Its unforgivable! I need to dedo the supernintendo one at least!
-
Have you seen RetroEngine on Facebook? Looks like someone's going to try to KS some kind of hardware running Emulationstation with this theme.
-
@robertybob yet another "genius entrepreneur" selling things that are meant to be free. kill one, three more take its place. neverending. Its pretty low to be taking @tronkyfrans work and selling it. Problem is facebook and kickstarter care more about money than ethics and taking things down is nigh to impossible. at the very least we can educate the morons who will throw money at it on how to make their own for much less money. no doubt the nes classic shortage is doing nothing to help the predicament.
-
In fact, I gave them permission to use the images. I tell you why, I think I owe somewhat an explanation:
-First, they asked for it, they were polite, and at first it looked like a little business, so, looking at the retro world de are living, I thought it would be ok to allow some use.
-They are supposed to give credit(we'll see that).- I didnt know they would use RetroPie or/and emulatiostation. If thats the case I hope they will vive enough credit AND links.
- I reserved the right to ask for the removal of the images any time, and if they dont give enough credit to this project(RetroPie), be sure that Ill use that right.
-They could have usted the images anyway, I found some projects that already do that(sigh), and really, what could I do? Hire lawyers? Waste money and energy in a hobby that its supposed to give satisfaction? I wont do that and they know, so at least de can hace some visibility.
-They "suggested" some future paíd work for me un the future. I know, I know.Maybe Im being naive, but Id like to live in a world where I can help someone to make a living with a hobby.
A different thing is RetroPie as a project, much more effort is going into it and deserves to get something more than getting used(and well ser if abused) whithout compensación un any way. I think its ilegal, too.
Again sorry for my poor english, I dont know if I explain myself properly. -
Anyway, Im getting ready some things for an upcoming new theme that would leave this one pretty obsolete, stay tuned
